Know what the stated width means
A 2-inch thermal paper roll is commonly described by its nominal width, while many 3-inch receipt printers use a paper width around 80 mm rather than exactly 76.2 mm. Nominal naming varies between suppliers: confirm the actual width in millimetres before placing an order.
Match the printer specifications
Check the receipt printer manual for acceptable paper widths, maximum roll diameter and supported core. Do not assume a roll will fit because its packaging says 2-inch or 3-inch. Some printer models support multiple paper widths with a guide.
Check roll length and printing performance
Two paper rolls with the same width can differ significantly in length, paper thickness and core construction. For consistent use, ask for the roll length or diameter, paper grade and quantity per carton.
Confirm before you order
Send the POS printer model, required width in millimetres, maximum roll diameter and average billing volume. Ask for confirmed stock, price and delivery arrangements for your city.
